In order to weather the unprecedented global pandemic currently impacting Sri Lanka, and to do our part for the protection of the university community and the Sri Lankan community at large, as responsible members of the academic community, the Faculty of Law has decided to shift to remote teaching and learning. We have therefore suspended in-person lectures until further notice. The time and pace of reopening will be entirely dependent upon health and safety advisories of health authorities as well as the decisions of the university administration. However, we have turned our attention to maintaining functional operations of our academic activities during such time as the university premises remain physically closed.
We are excited to announce to you the launching of 15 LMS pages dedicated for the LLM Programme. These consist of 14 pages allocated for the core subjects, while 1 page has been dedicated to the Research Methodology Course. The respective Course Directors will use LMS facilities and may opt for conducting lectures online via Zoom.
We recognize the necessity to ensure equality and equity of access to education in the Faculty of Law, even during these exceptional and exacting times. We vouch to you that the academic staff will remain dedicated to adopting appropriate measures to facilitate the academic needs of our entire student body by resorting to multiple methods deemed appropriate for ensuring equality and equity in access to education. In that light, once the Faculty of Law reopens, the respective Course Directors would discuss a summary of the content covered through online fora in face-to-face sessions with the students.
We have every hope that you will give your fullest support to this endeavour of shifting to remote teaching and learning and particularly support the Course Directors in their attempts to bring academic activities closer to you!
everyone good health and peace of mind, and hope that the University community,
the country, and the world emerges from this crisis stronger, united, and
